The students believe it's an important message to get out to other students and different from anything else! No one really thinks of buckling up their pets in their cars, but that "could help save so many animals" stated the students. They set up a whole day dedicated to the pledge "Be Smart Ride Safe" and had students sign up for to take the pledge.

Pet Safety Lady went live via Skype, to explain the pledge and the reason for starting Bark Buckle UP, along with tips of travel safety.

The students used the "Be Smart Ride Safe" posters, handouts and sign-up sheets to
help several hundred students become aware of the safety message.
