According to the founder of Bark Buckle UP, "Pet Safety Lady" Christina Selter, "safety belts can only work if you use them." Bark Buckle UP is committed to informing pet owners of the dangers of unrestrained pets. Selter created the "Be Smart, Ride Safe" pledge, allowing pet-owners to commit to being safer with pets for the safety of the owner, the safety of pets and to protect first responders.

World-renowned dog behaviorist Cesar Millan has teamed with pet safety experts Bark Buckle UP, to host a new public service announcement, asking pet owners to take the pledge to "Be Smart, Ride Safe. "When it comes to pet safety, protection is about prevention – that's what this campaign is all about," Milan said with his co-host and second-in-command, "Junior," a Blue Pit bull. "Pack leaders provide protection and direction," said Millan.

The "Be Smart, Ride Safe" pet travel safety PSA will air nationally and online to encourage pet owners and corporations to take the pledge to be safer with their pets while in the car, truck, SVU and even the RV.
