Basic guidelines to follow pre flight:

What to bring in your carry on for your pet: food or snacks, water, travel bowl, waste baggies (Ziploc), medicines, pet photo ID card and a list animal relief areas at connecting and destination airports. Be sure to bring medicines and a collar/harness & leash.

• Fees (average is 100.00)
• Cabin or cargo: A pet under 20lbs, which includes the carrier, is allowed in the cabin, under the seat in front of you. Larger pets travel as cargo. Lock your carrier and keep an ID on the carrier.
• Check-in: A reservation for pets is required and some airlines offer miles as part of frequent flier programs. Your pet will be your carry-on bag.
• Security: You will need to present the animal to the Security Officers at the checkpoint. You may walk your animal through the metal detector with you. If this is not possible, your animal will have to undergo a secondary screening, including a visual and physical inspection by our Security Officers. Your carrier goes through the x-ray machine.
• Airports are required to have pet potty areas.
• Health: Healthy to fly = current shots. All states require Rabies vaccinations and the animal must be at least eight weeks old.
• Snub nose pets like a Pug can't fly as cargo.
• Airline transfers: When transferring with the same carrier, airlines will transfer your pet for you, but if you are boarding a different carrier, you are required to pick up your pet at baggage claim and transfer the animal to the next airline.
• There are no fees for service animals with proper ID and they travel in the cabin.
• Weather safety restrictions: Pets may not travel as checked baggage in temperatures above 85 or below 20 degrees.
